To me, fitness isn't about esthetics. After having my daughter and gaining 75 pounds during pregnancy my views on fitness drastically shifted. I was in the middle of training for a fitness competition before I found out I was pregnant with my beautiful wild child. Back then, fitness was intense. I ran with the motto "no pain, no gain." Before becoming a mother I never had issues with my weight or physical performance for my sport. I also didn't have a very good self image and was very critical of myself. After getting cleared by my doctor for physical activity, I started on my very first weight loss journey... and let me tell you, it was so much harder than I expected it to be. Between the surprising amount of strength loss and increase in pain throughout my body, I knew working out would feel dramatically different. I wanted to lose the weight, but it was no longer only for the purpose to look better, I needed to feel better. For the first time in my life I didn't feel healthy. I went from one thing to the next, jumping from one Groupon unlimited monthly pass to another. I ordered prepared foods that were amazingly bland, took supplements that were too expensive, and got so angry with myself every time I fell off track. After just over a year of consistent effort and focus on my workouts, nutrition, and mental fortitude, I was able to lose 80 pounds and keep it off. That journey was so eye opening that it sparked my desire to help others on their fitness journey. So, I got certified to be a personal trainer through NASM after doing an internship at a local barbell gym. I have worked with hundreds of clients of all fitness levels to help them reach their goals. Going on a fitness journey can be really frustrating and with all the conflicting info out there it can be confusing to know what's true and what's false. I offer personalized programming and accountability to help keep you on track so you can live your life pain free with confidence.
